Donald Trump is being mocked online after his phone lock screen went viral.

Donald Trump mercilessly mocked for hilarious reason after cameras expose his phone's lock screenPresident Trump is already facing backlash from one of his most prominent former allyElon Musk, following the tech mogul’s abrupt departure from the White House.

Political tension continues to rise over Trump’s recently passed bill that will raise the debt limit by more than $4 trillion over the next two years and increase defence spending. The President’s signature bill was passed by the House of Representatives last month but was met with heavy criticism from the former head of DOGE.

Musk called the bill a ‘disgusting abomination’ before threatening to ‘fire’ those who supported it.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote yesterday (3 June) on X. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.

“Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

In the meantime, users online have found something more trivial to roast the president for.

Last Friday (30 May), Trump was photographed waving to reporters while stepping off Air Force One with his phone lock screen fully visible to the cameras.

Also visible was a text message from Roger Stone, a long-time Trump advisor who received a presidential pardon during Trump’s first term.

Eagle-eyed viewers zoomed in to find that his phone wallpaper features none other than Trump himself.

The lock screen shows Trump in his signature pose, pointing straight ahead. Internet sleuths reportedly traced the image back to 2019, when he was initially in office.

Naturally, social media users on X (formerly Twitter) had a lot to say about the ‘on-brand’ move from the president.

“The most on-brand thing that ever on-branded. Trump’s lock screen is, of course, a picture of Trump,” one user wrote.

“Trump’s lock screen was spotted on his phone last night—and it was a photo of himself. Is that not one of the most narcissistic, self-absorbed things you’ve ever seen??? Not his family, not his kids, but himself. Wtf…,” political commentator Harry Sisson wrote on X.

“Trump having a photo of himself on his lock screen is the Trumpiest thing ever,” another X user wrote.

And others shared the wallpaper’s reflection on Trump’s character.

“Trump actually has his own image as his phone’s screen saver. What a narcissistic pathetic loser. Says so much,” added another X user.

The group Republicans Against Trump, wrote: “Donald Trump’s iPhone lock screen was spotted over the weekend. Yep, it’s a photo of himself. Of course it is.”

Rumors have suggested that Trump and Musk’s relationship has fractured

Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s relationship has been somewhat of a rollercoaster ride over the past seven months, as the pair has seemingly gone from inseparable to distant, but the former DOGE head has challenged rumors in a new social media post.

Since joining Trump‘s presidential campaign trail in the latter stages of 2024, Elon Musk almost immediately became one of the soon-to-be president’s closet advisors.

Helped with a healthy several-hundred-million dollar donation, Musk gained incredibly influence in the world of politics that only became stronger once Trump emerged victorious from the election.

His own mother commented on how close the pair had become, and with his rise to head of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), it seemed as if only Trump had more power in the new administration than Elon.

However, it appeared as if their relationship began to fracture as quickly as it had formed in recent months, with Musk’s failure to secure the Supreme Court vote in Wisconsin considered by many analysts to be the catalyst.

Mentions of each other on social media almost ceased to exist, Musk has even been outspoken on certain Trump plans, and the billionaire’s departure as head of DOGE appeared to signal more than just the conclusion of his Special Government Employee allocation.

While it might not be a post from Musk himself, he has reposted a tweet from ‘DogeDesigner’ – who he frequently interacts with – which might serve as an endorsement of sorts.

The post itself reads: “In the coming days, legacy media will try to convince you that President Trump and Elon Musk are no longer friends and that’s why Musk left. What they won’t tell you is that Elon was a Special Government Employee, limited to 130 days of service and that term ends tomorrow.”

In reposting this, Musk almost confirms that things aren’t quite as bad as they seem between him and the president, and that seemingly had nothing to do with his departure from the Trump administration.

Many analysts have also pointed out that Tesla‘s falling stock market value and growing unpopularity also made it the perfect time for Musk to return to the car company ‘full time’, as it appeared to be in a ‘code red situation’ that only its CEO could solve.

Furthermore, while he might not be dealing with ‘wasted’ spending any more, Musk certainly won’t be a stranger to the current government as SpaceX appears to play a key role in the development of Trump’s new Golden Dome System, which could earn Musk’s company hundreds of billions of dollars.

Elon Musk has issued a fierce warning Donald Trump and his administration following the newly announced ‘abomination’ of a tax bill.

The world’s richest man said his final farewell at the White House last week, although the President has assured that ‘he will, always, be with us, helping all the way.’ That said, the Tesla CEO’s criticism of Trump’s agenda is far from over.

After leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for 129 days, Musk stepped down from his governmental role to refocus on his billion-dollar enterprises. Although his role was temporary, his ‘shock’ departure caused rumours to circulate that his exit was premature amid growing rumours of a rift with Trump.

Shortly after Musk’s exit, Trump celebrated the passage of his signature ‘big, beautiful bill’.

The budget was passed by the House of Representatives last month and includes raising the debt limit by more than $4 trillion over the next two years, as well as increased defence spending. The new piece of legislation also allows the US government to borrow more money and enables Trump to advance his immigration policy and economic reform agenda.

But Musk’s allegiance with Trump has shifted from partnership to protest after calling the plan ‘disappointing’ and undermining the work that DOGE does.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote yesterday (3 June) on X. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.

“Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

The SpaceX founder, who has previously supported candidates aligned with Trump’s agenda, now appears ready to challenge Republicans who voted in favour of the bill.

“In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people,” he threatened on X, taking aim at the lawmakers who backed the bill.

OK LET ME JUST GET THIS STRAIGHT… THE GOP ARE OUT THERE: 1) SPENDING MILLIONS ON LUXURY HOTELS IN UKRAINE 2) NOT VOTING ON ANY DOGE CUTS 3) SPENDING 60% OF THEIR TIME ON VACATION 4) NOT CODIFYING EXECUTIVE ORDERS IS THIS THE “MAJOR REFORM” THE AMERICAN PEOPLE VOTED FOR?!!!

In its current form, the legislation is expected to add roughly $600 billion (£444 billion) to the US deficit in the next fiscal year alone. According to the 53-year-old, the long-term impact is even worse.

Musk has taken to a series of X posts heavily criticising the bill.

In another post, Musk warned: “It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt”. And a more recent post warned: “This immense level of overspending will drive America into debt slavery!”

The so-called ‘pork’ spending is the funds allocated to specific districts or industries. Critics like Musk argue that these allocations waste taxpayer money, but supporters claim they help fund essential services like defence, healthcare and infrastructure.

Former Trump official reveals ‘proof’ Elon Musk actually thinks Trump is ‘an idiot’

Musk’s inflammatory comments have been interpreted as a jibe against Trump

Harry Boulton

Despite being near inseparable half a year ago, one former Trump official has revealed the ‘proof’ that Elon Musk thinks that the president is an ‘idiot’ as the richest man in the world bows out from politics.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump haven’t always been as close as they’ve seemed in the past six months, as inflammatory comments thrown from both sides over the past decade made their close partnership seem even more surprising.

Musk quickly became the president’s ‘First Buddy’ though, with his own mother chiming in on how close the pair were. Ascending to head of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), it became clear how much influence the South African held in Trump’s administration, even if the limits of his power were outlined after a few worrying mistakes.

However, with Musk set to leave DOGE and politics altogether in a bid to solve Tesla’s ‘code red situation’, one former Trump official has revealed that the billionaire apparently thinks Trump to be an ‘idiot’.

As reported by the Independent, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci made the bold claim during this year’s Hay Festival, basing it on an incendiary comment that Musk previously made about one of Trump’s current key advisors.

Despite only being in his former role for 11 days before getting the sack from Trump, Scaramucci has clearly picked up the ability to distinguish tense political relationships, and he could be on the money with this particular assessment.

“Musk thinks Trump’s an idiot, and let me tell you know I know, because Musk doesn’t think like we do,” Scaramucci outlined during a talk with co-host Alastair Campbell.

“Musk did something to let everybody know he’s not happy with Trump. He put out on X that Peter Navarro is dumb as a box of rocks. And then the next tweet was, ‘I would like to apologize to the box of rocks, because I just offended to the box of rocks’,” he explained, gesturing that Navarro and Trump are one and the same due to their closely aligned trade policy.

“This is Navarro’s trade policy. This is Donald Trump’s trade policy. You see, he thinks he’s an idiot.”

In essence, Scaramucci is claiming that in clearly outlining his opposition to Navarro in reference to his trade policy views, he’s implicitly stating his opposition to Trump too – giving a dual target to the ‘dumb as a box of rocks’ comment.

Musk shocked many when he spoke out against President Trump’s controversial tariff plan, outlining the dangers it would cause within the automotive industry which he is obviously a key part of as CEO of Tesla.

Now that Musk’s time in government has come to an end, the emerging rift between him and Trump is seemingly becoming clearer. Many political experts have pointed towards the tech mogul’s failure to secure the Wisconsin Supreme Court vote as the real turning point, but the pair’s failure to mention each other on social media is also a clear sign that it wasn’t a particularly amicable ending.

Donald Trump reveals Elon Musk ‘isn’t really leaving’ White House in shock Oval Office meeting

The Doge-father will still be around

In a surprise twist that has political watchers raising eyebrows and tech fans doing double-takes, Donald Trump has revealed that Elon Musk isn’t actually leaving his post at the White House — at least, not fully.

Reported by The Guardian, the two appeared side by side in the Oval Office on Friday for what was expected to be Elon Musk’s official send-off as the head of the much-talked-about “department of government efficiency,” better known by its meme-worthy acronym: DOGE.

But just as everyone thought the tech billionaire was about to bow out, President Trump made a shock announcement.

The president told reporters: “Elon is really not leaving”.

Trump added: “He’s going to be back and forth. I think I have a feeling it’s his baby, and I think he’s going to be doing a lot of things.”

While Musk’s official role as a “special government employee” might be winding down, both he and Trump made it clear the relationship is far from over.

Musk said during the press event: “This is not the end of Doge but really the beginning”.

The tech billionaire added: “I hope to continue to provide advice whenever the president would like.” Trump, quick to respond, simply added: “I hope so.”

Despite recent tensions between the two, especially after Musk publicly slammed one of Trump’s latest tax bills, Friday’s vibe was more bromance than breakup.

Trump heaped praise on Musk, calling him “one of the greatest business leaders and innovators the world has ever produced.” He also gave Musk a golden key emblazoned with the White House seal, saying it was something he only gave to “very special people.”

The moment wasn’t without its lighter and stranger moments either.

Musk rocked up wearing a full-black outfit, topped with a ‘Doge’ cap and a T-shirt that read “The Dogefather.” But what really caught attention was the big ol’ bruise under his right eye.

Asked what happened, Musk casually dropped that his son, X Æ A-12, gave it to him.

“I was just horsing around with X and I said: ‘Go ahead, punch me in the face.’ And he did,” Musk said. “I didn’t really feel much at the time. But I guess it bruises up.”

He joked that he wasn’t “anywhere near France,” referencing a viral clip involving French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte.

And if all that wasn’t wild enough, Musk neatly sidestepped a question about a New York Times report claiming he used drugs while serving in his advisory role, including ketamine and psychedelics.

“Let’s move on,” he said, before blasting the Times for its past reporting on the Russia investigation.

So, while Musk might be handing over the Doge reins, it’s clear he’s not going far.
